Open House
Written by Karen Ann
We would like to offer an opportunity to any independent small business owner before we close. On Thursday, March 11 we will be hosting an open house and inviting small business owners to participate to share with our customers news on your business. The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m.
- Our assistant manager, Jill will be showcasing her business "Tastefully Simple." We use several of "Tastefully Simple" seasonings in our cooking at the tea room.
- Our own Chef Dan will be showcasing his business ~ "Flippin Sweets." Chef Dan's cake and goodies not only look awesome, they taste great.
- We will also have "Stan's Health Food of Philadelphia" with us. Owner and operator, Sharon, will be with us. Sharon is a regular guest in the tea room.
- Silpada Jewelry with Donna Bajek. Donna is one of our newer Tea Room employees.
So... please come out and visit during our open house and if you would like to showcase your business please give me a call at 215.773.9300.

It is with a sad heart that we are announcing that on Saturday, March 13, 2010 Karen Ann’s Tea Room will be closing their doors at the end of the St. Patty’s Dinner Event. Unfortunately the economy has brought us to a halt.
Until then, it is business as usual!
Please make sure you come in and use any Gift Certificates you may have prior to the closing.
We want to thank you for helping us live the Dream! It’s been a great adventure and we’ve met wonderful people along the way who have become more like family than guests in the tea room. So, we thank you very much!
We will be selling the contents of the tea room, including: kitchen equipment (stove, oven, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.), dishes, cups and saucers, flatware, tables, chairs, linens, retail, décor accessories, etc. The sale will begin on Tuesday, March 16 at noon. If you are interested in any of the kitchen equipment please call Karen Ann at 215.773.9300 prior to this date.
But, don’t forget we will be open from now until March 13th to serve you lovely afternoon teas and breakfast. We’re still operating as always and we hope to see you in the tea room!
Thank you, friends, for sharing the journey.

Karen Ann’s Tea Room is a home where the door is always open to friends. I based the Tea Room’s philosophy of “Where the goodness of tea meets the comfort of home” from my experiences in life. Actually it was a young friend of 15 that came up with the slogan, she said “Aunt Karen, this is so you!” Tea always played an important role in my life. As a child I always enjoyed a cup of tea with my Grandmother. Most of the time “mom” was a coffee drinker but whenever I would visit we would share the time and have a cup of tea. Being from an Italian household there was always coffee percolating on the stove, but, it seems that I adopted my Grandmother’s English tradition of having a cup of tea after school or with friends and family. When Chuck and I were engaged the first thing I asked for on my Bridal Shower wish list was a proper tea pot for steeping tea. I started to experiment with various teas throughout the years and tea became the drink in our household. Whenever friends and family came by we sat over a up of tea. The dream of owning and operating a tea room has been there for me since childhood, back when I received my first child’s china tea set with a ballerina on the tea pot and my Easy Bake Oven™. Now the dream has come true. So, sit back and enjoy the flavor of tea, the special time shared with a friend, feel at home and become part of our family.
